Chinese Burning Paper Viagra in Honor of The Dead

Burning fake money, car, villa and applice for the beloved ones passed away on the traditional Tombsweeping Festival (or Qing Ming Jie, April 5 every year) in China is not strange to me, as I usually also did for my grandfather and elder uncle when I was still living there. But I really can't help feel ridiculous on the fact that nowadays people there begin burning fake viagra for dead relatives (in an intention to let them enjoy sex in the afterlife).

Cemeteries in China are selling paper replicas of Viagra, which are to be burned for dead relatives so they can have sex in the afterlife, state media reported today.

According to the Nanjing Morning News, the paper Viagra is being snapped up by customers, along with images of condoms and heavily made-up bar girls, who are women employed by bars to act as companions to male customers and make them spend a lot of money.

Anyone living in China, please do pay attention when purchasing the food with bright colors which might have been dyed with poisonous pigments harmful to your health. The picture above shows market administrators found yellow croakers dyed with a yellow pigment called Huang Na Feng (yellow sodium powder) used to be a compositition in paints at a seafood market in Lianyungang, east China's Jiangsu Province March 20. It is aslo learned that 12 routinely consumed fruits like citrus, litchi. apples, pears, grapes, watermelons, bananas, peach, longans, mangoes, persimmons and jujube in Guangzhou may either contain overdosed growth-stimulated hormones, preservatives and coloring agents, or have been waxed and bleached. Doesn't sound so horrific?

Footless "Basketball Girl" Gets New Limbs

She is a girl named Qian Hongyan (钱红艳), from Luliang County of China's southwest Yunnan Province. On October 21 of 2000, she, then 4 years old, was hit and run over by a rule-breaking truck laden with fertilizers when she was crossing a road. To save her life, doctors had to amputate both her legs and part of her lower torso. Since then she became a miserable half-body person, and lost the normal life that she should otherwise have had. Her family members once tried to use barrels and tires to replace her feet before her maternal grandfather found the basketball. He cut a circle from the ball and set her on it. When she walked, little Hongyan can only slowly move around after she had to use her hands holding a pair of specially designed wooden handle bars to lift up her body. Such a unique but very strenuous walking life didn't come to the end until January 2005 when docotors from China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing noticed Hongyan and vowed to have her up by fitting with a set of prosthetic legs. Eventually They made it in May 2005!

The script from Latimes provides the scale of the money confiscated during an anti drug-trafficking raid in a mansion located in the Mexican City's wealthiest Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood.


The $205.6 million was more than the funding allocated to pensions for the handicapped by Mexico's social security agency. It exceeded the amount of public funds provided to Mexico's political parties for campaign spending and also surpassed the budget of the Mexican Senate.

Japanese Construction Worker Stole 4,400 Pieces of Women's Underwear

Shigeo Kodama, 54, used the climbing skills he perfected from his job as a construction worker to steal 4,400 pieces of lingerie which included 3,977 underpants, 355 bras and 10 pairs of stockings over a six-year period starting from 2001. Kodama's weird stealing behaviors were apparently blasted when Hiroshima Prefectural Police arrested him in February after he stole underwear from two houses.
