Israel Mireles, the prime suspect in the murder of Emily Sander, was arrested on a homicide warrant in Melchor Muzquiz by the Mexican police. The 24-year-old Israel Mireles was alleged of killing 18-year-old Kansas Butler County Community College student Emily Sander, aka Zoey Zane (picture here) who led a secret life as porn star on the internet, on November 23. Mireles fled to Mexico after he picked up his pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend, Victoria Martens (picture below).
Mexican authorities received several tips to the whereabouts of Israel Mireles and had been monitoring his movements since Dec. 3, but would not take him into custody until they received assurances from the Kansas prosecutor's office that they would not seek the death penalty.
Now Israel Mireles is expected to be extradited back to Kansas, to face a capital murder charge for murder, rape and criminal sodomy, but he finally will not be punished by the death sentence. How sad, such a felony can escape the capital punishment!
Victoria Martens, now with an 8-month-pregnancy, reportedly refused to return back after she was found unharmed. But her mother Sandy Martens is doing everything she possibly can in order to get her back into the States and plans to name her unborn grandchild as Isabelle Marie.
