It seems Cristiano Ronaldo will not remain at Manchester United this summer. The respected UK Guardian newspaper reported the Portugal winger who possibly will help Portugal win Eruo 2008 Cup had decided to move Real Madrid 'a long time ago'.
'They have been talking for at least two months, and it was all agreed with Real Madrid weeks ago. All this chat from [Real president] Ramón Calderón that he does not want to upset Manchester United, and Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be bought because he belongs to another club, is absolute rubbish. Discussions have gone way beyond the point of no return. Sir Alex Ferguson knows this now so you can imagine how it has gone down.' a senior Manchester United source told Observer Sport on June 14 night.
Update: Ronaldo publicly expressed his intention to move from MU to Real Madrid after his team was eleminated from Euro 2008.
“It [moving to Real] is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want,” Ronaldo said. “For me it is a great opportunity and, as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it. That is why he took advantage of his change. Other people have to take advantage of opportunities, too.”
Update 2: Real Madrid is willing to pay a record breaking £80 million and also offering to pay £182,000-a-week after tax to bid Cristiano Ronaldo.
