Vintage Madonna 1979 Nekid Photo Christie’s Auction February 12, 2009

A vintage Madonna photo by photographer Lee Friedlander has geared up to be auctioned at Christies in New York on February 12, 2009. The image named Nude was taken in 1979 and is a gelatin silver print which measures 13 x 8 5/8in, or 33 x 21.9cm. It was estimated to fetch $10,000 - $15,000.

Update (Feb.13, 2009): Lee Friedlander’s vintage 1979 Madonna photo was auctioned. It was bid for $37,500 by phone buyers. Madonna, then a cash-strapped student, received $25 for the entire photo shoot. [CNN]
