Due to the terrible weather in Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the space shuttle Atlantis landed at the Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert of north Los Angeles June 20 after finishing a 14-day mission to the International Space Station.
Now NASA has begun to return the orbiter to Florida by hitchhiking it on a specially-equipped Boeing 747, the journey will cost $1.7M. The above picture shows a great photo snapped by NASA employee Carla Thomas on July 1, 2007 at Edwards Air Force Base, California, USA. Link via Digg
