When Chinese cow breeder Guo Zhixin learned from a foreign cow magazine that playing music to dairy cows may make cow produce more milk, he has begun offering one-hour-long music sessions for his 860 cows by hiring a musician since last March. And the effects are significant. Guo, who raises the cows on his farm in a village near city Luoyang, central China's Henan Province, says playing music to cows brings forth one more kilo of milk from every cow, every day, resulting in 700 yuan (~US$72)'s more worth of milk every year.
