Splinter, the world’s first wooden car, was created by the U.S. design company, Joe Harmon Design. It can sprint from 0 to 60mph in just over three seconds and run with a top speed of 240mph.

The 4.6 meter-long, two-seater vehicle, made from maple, plywood and MDF, has a 4.6 litre V8 petrol engine and a six-speed gearbox.

It weighs 1,134kg – 240kg less than the lightweight Porsche 911 GT3. Despite its power, it will achieve 20mpg, according to its designer, Joe Harmon, 27.  Source: Xinhua; Times
