Billy Poole, a pro-extreme skiier, died in the afternoon of January 22 after taking a fall while filming stunts for an entertainment company in Big Cottonwood Canyon between Solitude and Brighton ski resorts in Utah, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. He was 28.
At the time of accident happened, Poole was filming a jump, had a bad landing, and possibly hit some rocks. Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office spokesman Paul Jaroscak said the 28-year-old died around 1:30 p.m. at University Hospital.
Born in Montana and reside in Utah, Poole who was sponsored by the ski and climbing equipment distributor Black Diamond, has made a name for himself on the slopes. His departure is definitely a great loss to the Utah Ski community.
