Mao Kobayashi (小林万桜, born January 12, 1992 in Tokyo) is what is known as a gravure idol, a model who poses for photographs and videos. Mao is one of many under-15 models whose books and DVDs sell heavily in Japan. She has also released a CD single as part of the J-pop group Doll's Vox, and is currently a member of the idol group momo mint's.At the time Kobayashi took the picture, she was only 13 years old.
Despite her young age, Mao's photos are rather risque in nature, and deliberately conceived as sexy images in which she wears swimsuits, school uniforms and maid costumes.
