David Hans Schmidt, the Controversial Publicist Who Intended to Extort US$1M from Tom Cruise, Commits Suicide at His Phoenix Home

David Hans Schmidt, who brokered some of Hollywood's most infamous deals in recent years, including the Dustin Diamond (Screech on "Saved By the Bell") sex tape, Tonya Harding honeymoon sex tape, Paula Jones nude photos, a Colin Farrel sex tape, compromising photos of Jamie Foxx, and an auction of Paris Hilton's diaries and other top-shelf scandals, committed suicide in his Phoenix home on Friday September 28.

David Hans Schmidt, plead guilty last month to attempting to extort Tom Cruise for 1 million over those wedding photos stolen from the latter's computer, since then he was put under house arrest. Schmidt was found dead when the authorities went to his Phoenix home after a tracking device on him had not moved and he hadn't checked in, TMZ cited the AP as reported.

Oh, making dirty money can't make a person live longer....
