Janelle Batkins
, a Roseville High School teacher in Michigan, was charged with having sex with a teenage teacher's assistant in a Clinton Township district court.
Janelle Batkins, 42, of Harrison Township, is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a 15-year felony. She faces up to 30 year in prison if convicted of both counts.
She was released on a $25,000 personal bond under the conditions she doesn’t go on the school grounds and doesn’t have contact with minors unrelated to her.
Batkins，the married mother of two children, ages 14 and 21, was accused of having consensual sex with her 17-year-old teenaged student aide since December to this May.
Janelle Batkins, who taught French for 15 years in the district and was named Teacher of the Year in 2002, resigned over the summer.
