Roger Avary, the 42-year-old Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction Screenwriter/Producer/Director, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and driving under the influence (DUI) Sunday (Jan. 13) after a fatal car crash in Ojai, California, that killed a male passenger and injured Avary's wife.
Andreas Zini, a 34-year-old friend visiting from Italy, died of his injuries at Ventura County Medical Center, a local hospital.
Avary's wife Gretchen, 40, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being ejected from the car. Her condition is unknown.
Avary was released from jail after posting $50,000 bail.
