Snake-catchers put snakes onto a statue of St. Dominic at the beginning of the St. Domenico's procession in Cocullo, central Italy May 3, 2007. Every year, on the first Thursday of May, snakes are placed onto the statue of St. Dominico and then the statue is carried in a procession through the town. St. Dominic is believed to have saved the lives of many who were bitten by snakes.
