Kyle Walker, a 7-year-old second-grader was suspended one day for his drawing depicting a 'water pistol' by Dennis Township Primary School of Atlantic City in New Jersey.
He was suspended Thursday [Oct. 18] after drawing a stick figure shooting another stick figure, [Kyle's mother] Shirley McDevitt said.
One smiling figure had the name "me" written above it. The other smiling figure had a schoolmate's name on it.
Kyle Walker told his mother it was a water gun and that he and the boy were friends.

McDevitt said she was told he was suspended because of the school's zero-tolerance policy for guns. The drawing was discovered, she said, after the schoolmate brought the drawing home and his parents expressed their concerns to the school, she said.
To punish an innocent boy without drawing thought by such a way, I think, what the school concerned did is very ridiculous, totally support Shirley's requirement--remove suspension mark from Kyle's permanent record! Link
