Javier Bardem
, a Spanish actor who earned a best-actor Oscar nomination in 2001 for Before Night Falls, is the new lover of actress Penelope Cruz, who dated Tom Cruise for several years.
Cruz, 33, and Bardem, 38, have started dating after working together on Woody Allen's latest movie, tentatively called "Summer Project", in Spain recently.
Penelope Cruz, in a black bikini beside her longtime friend Bardem, wearing black swimming trunks, were photographed relaxing together in the Maldives this month.
Cruz and Bardem starred together in the 1992 dramatic comedy "Jamon, Jamon", in which they played lovers, and are Spain's most famous actors.
