Monta Ellis Injured at Training-camp Practice, Possibly Paralyzed

    Monta Ellis

Monta Ellis, Golden State Warriors guard was immobilized and carted off the court after he was injured in a collision during training-camp practice in Hawaii last night.

Monta Ellis lay face down for more than 20 minutes after colliding with teammate, rookie Brandan Wright, and was unable to move from the shoulders down. He reportedly hit his head on Wright's hip, causing him to collapse on the floor.

ESPN reported the 21-year-old Monta Ellis has been taken to Castle Medical Center in Kailua, which is about 40 minutes from the BYU-Hawaii campus where the Warriors are holding camp.

On April 26, Monta Ellis was named the winner of the 2006-07 NBA Most Improved Player Award.  Ellis's serious injury is obviously devastating news for himself and the great loss to the Warriors.

Monta Ellis was born on October 1985 in Jackson, Mississippi. He is 6 ft 3 in (1.91m) tall and weighs 177 lb (80kg).

If this injury proves to be career threatening it would be catastrophic considering how much promise Monta had shown during his short career.
