While in New Delhi last weekend (october 6th 2007) for a concert, rapper and singer Akon
...went shopping with a couple of his African fans that live in India since they knew the local malls best.
Before the concert, they took him to Ansal Plaza, located in South Extension in the southern part of New Delhi. He apparently had only brought $100 with him and said "I thought shopping in India was supposed to be cheap!" One of the fans, a Congolese student currently studying Law in India had some cash on her, and offered to lend him Rupees 20,000, the equivalent of about $500.
'Kon accepted the cash, promising to pay her back at the after party in his hotel room later that night. Unfortunately, he was too busy getting close and comfy with another one of the girls to remember his promise, and left the poor girl waiting all night long for her money.
Pissed off and broke, the girl [in the yellow and black dress in the picture above] left the hotel room in the early hours of the morning after realizing that she was not going to get her money.
