OTC Cold And Cough Medicines NOTSafe for Kids Under Two

Over-the-counter (OTC) cold and cough remedies, with fruity flavors specifically marketed for kids, were originally believed safe and widely available in drugstores. But a new report from saftey experts within the Food and Drug Administration said that those syrup cough remedies might not be safe as they were thought. The review found 54 reported deaths from decongestants over the past four decades, most in children under the age of 2. So, now FDA recommended NO level of dosage for children under the age of two, "due to the lack of evidence of efficacy and safety concerns."
