Red Panda: The Real Firefox in Life

    real firefox in nature

Firefox has to much extent become an acronym for the world's second popular navigator, which almost prompts us to forget that there is such a real animal existing in the nature. Thanks to a post on the Striker Diary where shows us numerous pictures about this cuddle cat.

The real fire fox in nature is actually called Red Panda, Ailurus fulgens, an endangered species. It is is a mostly herbivorous mammal, slightly larger than a domestic cat (55 cm long). This red panda has semi-retractile claws and, like the Giant Panda, has a "false thumb" which is really an extension of the wrist bone. Thick fur on the soles of the feet offers protection from cold and hides scent glands. The Red Panda is native to the Himalayas in India and Nepal and southern China [where it is usually called little panda (小熊猫)].
