Turpan, commonly regarded as a flaming region in Xinjiang, has its average temperature reaching 38 to 42 degrees Celsius (100.4 to 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit) from June to August every year [but in winter even waterfall can be frozen], the best time for sand therapy. Sand therapy of Turpan is a traditional folk therapeutics integrating sun bath, magnetic therapy and massage therapy. As the sand in Turpan contains plenty of magnetite filings, it has been proved evidently effective for curing arthritis, lumbago and leg pain.
