England's dream to reach Euro 2008 has finally eclipsed after a 2-3 defeat to Croatia in a match staged at Wembley Stadium just several hours earlier.

"The biggest disappointment for me is for the fans, for the country. We felt we were ready to do it, we failed on the night and we're out. We've not been good enough.'' England coach Steve McClaren told the BBC after match.
